And we’ve probably all seen instances where things have gone awry in businesses because of poor governance. The extra remedial cost, to any business, in terms of management concern and time as well as other resource, is always far more than the cost of having safeguarding governance systems in place.
These systems can reduce the risk of negative incidents happening – and, if they do occur, then they are at least discovered and reported early whilst there is still time to take effective remedial action.
I offer the skills acquired over 40 years of experience – including over 20 years at C-suite level – in governance, risk and compliance, gained primarily in top tier financial services institutions.
Amongst other appointments, I served as Group Compliance Director at Lloyds TSB Group for five years and as Managing Director, Head of Compliance at the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (“PIF”) for five years.
I also served, for four years, on the Investors Advisory Board of the Softbank Vision Fund – in effect the Governance Committee of the Fund – and was PIF’s representative on President Macron’s OnePlanet Sovereign Wealth Fund Initiative, which aims to introduce climate change considerations into investment decision making and reporting thereof.
